Services and opportunities provided by LRYSA
Training Session at John Merrick's Lake
All courses are accredited and run under the scope of the Royal Yacht Association with qualified and ecperinced instructors.
John Merrrick's Lake within Watermead Country Park has been the main centre for sailing activities for the LRYSA since 1967. The Lake is an invaluable resource for local communities and in particular for the City of Leicester.
This Year activities will increase from 14th May 2016 when we aim to make courses and activities available 7 days a week.
These Activities will include ....
- RYA Adult Level One and Two Dinghy Sailing. The RYA combined course that transforms a complete beginner into a sailor who is confident to take his/her family out onto the water
- RYA junior (7 to 18) Stages 1 to 4 Dinghy Sailing
- RYA Power Boat Level 1 and 2. This combined course takes you from beginner up to level 2. The course runs over 2 day and covers both practical and theory elements.
- Sailing Come and try it sessions
- Saturday Kids Club incorporating Stage 1 and 2 qualifications
- After School kids club
- Sunday morning adult racing
- 1 hour Private Dinghy lessons
- 1 hour taster sessions for individuals or groups
- A Water Activities Club for retired people

Bosworth Water Park is a satellite centre of the LRYSA where we also operate for the convenience of the Hinckley and Bosworth Community. Adult and Junior courses, for both Power Boat and Dinghy Sailing, can also be booked here through the LRYSA.

The LRYSA had the honour of hosting the 2015 Annual National Schools Sailing Association (NSSA) at Rutland Sailing Club during July.
