The LRYSA opened their centre on Saturday the 6th of April for their open day, inviting members of the public from 8 to 80 to come and discover sailing and have fun on the water. In spite of the winds gusting at times families, with their children braved the water and had a wonderful day, in most cases sailing for the first time. Our dedicated volunteers and instructors ensured their safety by accompanying visitors in double handed sailing boats showing them how to handle the boats. Safety boats manned with crews trained to the high standard required by the RYA kept watch on the water throughout the day.
Many visitors signed up to learn to sail during the spring and summer.
The LRYSA would like to thank all our dedicated instructors and helpers for their assistance on the day.
